Lacasita del huerto neix a Barcelona l'any 2012. Els integrants inicials del grup són Ignasi Ricart (veu,violí i guitarra), Iñaki de la Linde (percussió i veu), Martí Cot (teclats i veu) Cisco Cruz (guitarra i veu); més tard incorporen un baixista (Aniol Bestit). Es defineix amb un estil de música latin-rumba catalana, però sense tancar portes al flamenc, al reggae i al pop alternatiu.
